In a world where weddings often focus on grandiosity and extravagance, there’s something uniquely special about a micro wedding. With a smaller guest list of just 30 close family and friends, the intimate, heartfelt moments come to the forefront. I had the privilege of photographing such a wedding for Kristin and Brandon – a celebration on a picturesque farm on a perfect September day.
A little about North Corner Haven – a beautiful setting just south of Charlotte, North Carolina. Your wedding day has multiple location options – we love options. Your ceremony could be held on The Lawn, The Porch or The Cedar Barn for your reception – depending on the size of your guest list – and you have The Courtyard and Grounds for your cocktail hour. Guests can wander around in the bonsai garden, orchards or explore the greenhouse while on site. And don’t even get me started on the food. There are 625 acres with adventures galore – fishing, axe throwing, sporting clays. If a more chill afternoon is what you’re after, they have wellness retreats, culinary classes and yes, they have vineyards which equals wine. Check more out here! Every adventure includes a farm lunch and that is truly a must-have.
While yes, every wedding day is a job.. technically.. but when I have all the friends and family of my bride and groom noticing me and taking note of my name and chatting with me throughout the night – that lights my heart on fire. It’s just further conformation I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing. God has placed this desire in my heart for a reason and I’m SO grateful.
Kristin and Brandon’s wedding day was exactly what my own wedding dreams are made of. Small guest list, farm to table meal served family style, all of our favorite people gathered around a single, long wooden table. Every thing was intentional and perfect and I would photograph this day a thousand times over.
