I didn't receive a camera for my 7th birthday and carry it around everywhere I went. I didn't fall asleep with one because it was my favorite thing ever. Sure, I had a good ole digital camera and forced my sisters to do a photoshoot with me that one time.. but photography and I - we were slow to fall in love.
Between my monotonous 9-5 receptionist job, my best friend asked if I would accompany her to weddings on the weekends - carrying her bags turned into using her extra camera turned into second shooting. And 7 years later, here we are and I couldn't be more grateful.
There was no ah-ha
moment for me.
A few random things that make me human: I adore Jesus and my goldendoodle Riggins (Texas forever) with all my heart. Gifs and breakfast foods are my love language. I cry every time someone is eliminated from The Great British Baking Show. I love reading, thrifting and a good St Germain Spritz. One day, I'll live off the grid - my dream is to have a bunch of land full of chickens and goats and horses and cows and all the other farm things. I'm pretty fluent in sarcasm and 'that's what she said' jokes. Being a comedian is a tough job but SOMEONE'S GOTTA DO IT.
I'm an introvert at heart, value deep conversation and keeping it real. I embrace my humanness and I want you to, too! I truly believe I was placed on this Earth to walk in abundance, live a big life and call out the light in others.
One thing you should know: I've been in and out of the wedding industry for years. Whether it's as a coordinator, second shooter or maid of honor - I've seen all sides, all the details, all the work. I recognize the blood, sweat and tears you've put into your day.

Carissa single handedly kept me sane throughout my entire wedding day by helping keep our schedule and making sure everyone knew where they needed to be and when. She felt like a personal friend through the whole planning process. All of my guests commented that everywhere they looked, Carissa was there taking pictures.
